As the coronavirus pandemic thrust the world into lockdown, Australians found themselves without a place to safely socialise or exercise. Except for one: the tennis court.
A sport that was social distancing before it was cool, tennis saw a surprise boom during the pandemic, with annual court bookings more than doubling.
Tennis Australia saw an opportunity to turn this lockdown hobby into a lasting pastime, by showing racquet-resistant Aussies that there was space for them on the court. The result was Tennis Australia’s first-ever masterbrand campaign, which rallied the public to Release the Player Within.
To reach more Australians, we created Tennis Australia’s first-ever television commercials targeted at participation.
For the first time, all of Tennis Australia’s participation products were unified under a new ‘Play Tennis’ brand, with a unified look and voice.
